Question how do you determine their age?

I have been wondering for a little while about Hugo's age, when we adopted him in August, they said he was about four months old. I don't think they were right I think he is at least 1 year old. he is sort of active he goes in his wheel, but not really too active. He wont get up if I don't get him up. He will sleep to at least 2:30am as I am still awake. So I think I have an older hamster, I will always love my Hugo

Once fully grown there's really no way of knowing how old they are, Hugo may be older than you were originally told, maybe he's less active due to the time of year or maybe he just likes his bed!
