Pregnant hamster?
Is my hamster pregnant because she spends most of her time nesting and cleaning her self a seems a little more territorial than usual, should i be concerned?

Re: Pregnant hamster?
Is she a Syrian hamster? Does she live alone? How long have you had her? What kind of a cage does she have?

Re: Pregnant hamster?
It's always possible but if you've only had her for 3 days she's still just settling in & making herself at home.
If she appears territorial it may just be that you're trying to interact with her a little too soon, give her some time to adjust to her new home for a while & just keep an eye on her.

Re: Pregnant hamster?
Well, it is possible. On the other hand she is very new and has been through a lot of changes and is just trying to get her bearings in an unfamiliar world! Always best to play it safe and assume the worst, but hope for the best Give her plenty of nesting material, good nutrition, a quiet environment, and watch for further signs. There are lots of people who have been through this on here (intentionally and not) who can better advise you. I've only been through one suspected hamster pregnancy that turned out to be a false alarm!

Re: Pregnant hamster?
I really don't know that much about hamster breeding or pregnancy but I would imagine she's be building a really big nest if you've given plenty of nesting material, getting bigger quite quickly & eating a lot!
If you do think she may be pregnant be careful not to disturb her any more than you have to, as it's still only a few days since you got her it's fine to keep your distance while she settles anyway.

If she stands up against the wall of her cage and you can see 2 rows of nipples on her underside that's one sign. Also a "bagginess" behind her front legs as she starts producing milk. If you look down from above you'll see "baby bumps" by her hips. I think most of those signs are from further along in a pregnancy.
I would follow cypher's advice and give her space to settle as there's so much new in her world!
