Hallelujah, my little handsome guy has finally progressed, he will now climb onto my hand and into his blanket for some cuddles and strokes. So proud of him, he prefers climbing onto a sleeve or the blanket itself but its a good step, very happy

My partner has been away on holiday the whole time this has been happening so hopefully when he comes back tonight he will trust him as much, of course it will take time

I hope everything goes well when your partner comes home! You might be surprised. My boyfriend was here there first 2 weeks after we got our dwarf and whenever he visits (with 1 or 2 months between) he is still my hammy's favourite

Congratulations on your news, can I ask how long it took to achieve this ?? We have had our girl since 12th September and she is gaining confidence slowly but we have not attempted to touch her yet as she still seems nervous and if the truth is known so am I x

We got him at 5 weeks, which was about 1-2 months ago. He wouldnt let us near him before, very scared and jumpy. I started with putting his blanket over my hand and letting him climb on that, and putting it over my legs so its like a little bowl and leaving some onto the cage so he can climb back in. Now we can pick him up with our hands and he doesnt bother, it just sorta happened one day, we starting with just stroking him but other than that, it was just when he was ready.
I was so nervous too, dont worry, i am the biggest worrier ever. You just have to be patient and take it slow,only do 10 minutes the first time for example and work it up, if you start panicking, stop. It will make him panic and thats where accidents happen. Just wing it, shes your baby, everything is so chilled when its taken slowly, then both confidence grows x

Awwwww! So cute, I'm a sucker for grey hams - he looks like he's really settling now . I do love the second pic, he has such a sad face on - he looks like he's begging to get let out.
