Is chattering teeth always a bad sign?
Before Nibble came out for his veg today (6:30pm, same time every day) he was lying in his nest, he yawned a couple of times, then chattered his teeth a bit then came bombing over for his food. It is always a sign of annoyance? He didn't seem annoyed. I don't think I woke him up, he's usually awake and waiting in his nest.

Re: Is chattering teeth always a bad sign?
As far as I know, people kinda agreed that it had to have multiple meanings. It's been discussed on here a couple of times before, with members having experienced a calm and 'happy' hamster chattering teeth.
Personally i have no clue. I have never heard any hamster do it.

Re: Is chattering teeth always a bad sign?
I think Clicking is more of a happy sound, where as chattering is when they feel threatened or disturbed. My hamsters have only Chattered when my hands are in their cage cleaning it up a bit and moving things around. But they click when they're running around investigating.

Maybe he was clicking then, Bertie used to chatter a fair bit when we first got him and it didn't sound quite the same.
