Thinking exactly the same Piebald.
Horsehammygirl, why are you doing all the work for this friend? If she really cared, she'd come on and asks herself! We don't bite, but, we have given some really great advice and tips but she seems to know best. But she doesn't.
Dwarf hams love loads of space but they also love lots of cover, toys, hidey holes & tunnels. They love to burrow and they love shade.
HHG - I'm not getting at you, but, I do think you've done more than enough for her. It's time she done the asking for herself.

Hi HHG, so sorry to hear about your brother's hamster, horrible whenever it happens but such a shock when it's is totally unexpected.
Thinking of you, your brother and your family. Hugs.
Play well at the bridge little fluff.

So sorry to hear about your brother's hamster. It's hard when it happens but, when it's sudden and unexpected it's very hard to take in and accept.
Sending hugs to you and your brother xxx

Thank you. He is very missed. I can't stop thinking about him, wondering if there is a hamster heaven. He was only 6 months old.

6 months is young. So sudden leaves you with so many thoughts and why.
I believe there's a hamster heaven.

Hamsters do squabble a little, especially dwarf normally about dominance and submissive, in new cages they try to establish who pretty much owns it.
However.. fighting consistently, don't take it like a pinch of salt like I did when I first bought my hamsters. They were only the 'rolling on the back' submissive squabbles, but unfortunately I heard them squabbling in the night walked in to find one hamster had bitten through the others abdomen - it died 5 days later. Truly wish I did separate them and it was the most heart breaking thing to do! Wouldn't want any other caring owner to go through that, they are such sweet creatures. So if the owner loves them and doesn't want to take any risks.. separate ^_^..

Hello gimblewart, and welcome to Hamster Central. That is a clear answer to the question about fighting hammies. Experience can be a brutal teacher sometimes. Others should pay attention to your story.
