New Cage
WE have gotten our little hammy Rinoa a new big cage. Now she has moved all of her substrate to one area of her cage and left a lot of her cage bare on one side is this normal. We put a lot of substrae in and give her plenty of activities to do

Re: New Cage
Our hamster just did this in his old cage lol! I reckon he is spring cleaning! Maybe she is making the substrate the same size as in her new cage, or just wants it deeper at one end. I should just add some more to the bare bit and see what happens next!

Re: New Cage
I don't think the word normal was made for hams lol!
My Chinese moves her substrate like that, makes mountains in one or two places usually burrowing underneath it & it all but disappears in other places so I have to keep throwing more in, half the mountains end up on the floor eventually but as long as she's having fun I don't mind!

Re: New Cage
When Twinkle did this, her wheel wouldn't work and she was looking at me to fix it but, I couldn't stop laughing at her trying to get the wheel to turn, silly ham.

Re: New Cage
You should see the size of the pile she's made after we added more substrate
