Question Does different music affect your hamster's behavior?

Just wondering about how music affects our fellow animal friends.

I have long heard that slow, classical music calms animals down, makes them sleepy, etc.
So, a couple nights ago, I decided to test the studies out on own my hamster, Loaf.
I have been playing the song "Chandon De L'adieu" on a loop at a tempo of 48 for a little after I got him out each night since then. He always seems to slow down and get sleepy. Last night, he fell asleep standing up as he listened!
So, just wanted to see how music affects other people's hamsters, if at all.

Heehee that's hilarious! Chopin hypnotised Loaf!
I just tried it on our dwarves in the front room who were up, Little X (Chinese) seemed quite interested in the Chandon De L'adieu but the other 2 pretty much ignored it. So I tried the Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven & Frogger (Chinese) def liked it, he stayed on his bridge for ages & he's usually darting around all over the place!
I'm going to try out some Mozart & see whether they like it tomorrow. From what I remember, Gizmo our oldest Syrian likes choral music, she always stops to listen to it when it's on.

It'd be interesting to see what others' hammies like!

Nice thread! Last summer, when Charlie was a baby and awake more, I tried music when he was out of the cage. I didn't have anything classical to hand so played little boy's collection of nursery rhymes and children's songs. Charlie's favourite (he visibly perked up!) seemed to be Flanagan and Allen singing 'Run rabbit Run' - which is quite funny! Good job he didn't understand the words! I'd love to try some classical with them. I read somewhere that playing Mozart to babies is supposed to make them more intelligent! I think they are definitely affected by 'tones' as Charlie really doesn't like it if there is something 'shouty' on the TV or people arguing.

Sounds like I have an experiment to try later on.

Funnily enough, my sister and I were talking about her greyhounds and the fact that they always get sleepy when slow classical music is being played.

I'll report any results when I have them.
