The SPCA might be your best option. I was looking on their website yesterday and the only hamsters they have in just now are a pair of Russian hybrids who live together! Nearly all the hamsters they have had on their website got rehomed. Just recently they had a few Syrians, a robo and a couple of Chinese hamsters. They seem to be gone now. Taking on a hamster suddenly for some people can be a rash decision and they may not be able to commit to them fully, but anyone actually going to the SPCA centre will be going because they want to rehome the hamster, so I feel this may be the better choice if your friends cousin is undecided? x

I am pretty sure Wednesday will be going to the SPCA as Chloe has not properly discussed it with her cousin and I have convinced her that the SPCA may be a better option. I am not sure when she will be taking Wednesday there, but it will be within the next week as she is moving back in with her mother and is unable to take Wednesday with her as it is a rented property and the landlord won't allow any more pets. I will let you all know when Wednesday is in the SPCA's care. I will be keeping an eye on their website to see when she gets to her new home, too! Wee darlin', hopefully she's not in there for too long!x

Such a shame nobody has managed to be near enough to take her. Had I had the space I could have taken her on, but like everything else, I`m not in a position to at the moment. I`m not in Glasgow anyway and don`t drive, so it may not have been possible anyway.

The two hamsters I saw on the SPCA website are in their Aberdeen centre, so the Glasgow/Lanarkshire centres don`t seem to have any hamsters in at the moment, which might go in Wednesdays favour. x

Not being in Glasgow really isn't an issue as my family work for Scotrail so I get trains free, lol! But I think the SPCA is a good second option.x

That`s handy! I was going to suggest Gumtree but unlike the SPCA, you wouldn`t have the security of a proper check. x

I'd agree with RH, the SSPCA is the best decision.

Chloe is still trying to convince her mum to let her take Wednesday to live with her. But if not she will go to the SPCA

Given that Russian hamsters and dwarf hammies in general don`t take up too much space or time, it would be nice if Chloe could keep Wednesday, but her future is the most important thing and making the right decision for her is crucial. The SPCA would assess her and get her a home that wanted her if nobody came forward on here. x

I am really upset with what Chloe decided. She is keeping Wednesday and Gimli in her grandparents house. Meaning they will only get fed and watered, no out of cage playtime. Gimli might get let out but Wednesday wont as her gran is scared of her. Chloe will go see the hams once a week to check on them
Chloe got a new syrian ham yesterday on impulse from Pets at Home for her 3yr old brother. I'm especially annoyed at this because had she not got a syrian, both dwarves could have been taken to her new house and gotten the correct care and diet rather than being fed tiny amounts of bird food every day and never getting out for playtime.
The icing on the cake is that I took Priscilla because Chloe didn't have the time or space for her... yet she went and got a syrian.
I dunno if I'm overreacting but yeah... I'm hoping I can find a way to squeeze Wednesday in with me :/
