Won't climb on my hand?

I'm really confused as my hamster seems pretty tame, doesn't mine being picked up, will climb over my arms, belly ect, sleeps on my shoulder, takes treats from me but he just won't voluntarily climb into my hand? Is there a reason or just a fussy hamster?

Our Jocci has always been happy to climb on our hands...until recently. she will no long climb on our hands altho she is happy for cuddles and climbs all over us! She is 9 months and this has only happened in the last few weeks. I wonder why too!

Archie prefers to be picked up and Twinkle will run onto my hands.

I'm wondering if it's an individual preference.

Meat is the tamest little guy there is. He'll stand up on his hind legs for attention when he's in his cage, he's happy to picked up and he's more than happy just to sit on my arm for ages but he's never climbed on to my hand. When I've put my hand flat in his cage for him to climb on, he'll come up and have a sniff and then just looks up at me, waiting to be picked up.

Only my very first hamster ever climbed willingly onto my hand. Must just be a preference thing maybe lol
