Not eating. sleeping
My hamster, twix, has not been eating. All she's only sleeping. I check in on her to make sure she's alive but I'm worried about her.

Re: Not eating. sleeping
Does she get up at all, ever? How's the temperature around her cage? How old is she?

She does get up. The temperature is about 74°f. She is pretty old but she doesn't usually act her age

Hmm, well in that case it could just be her age catching up with her. They do seem to show their age rather suddenly when they do I'm afraid.

Re: Not eating. sleeping
As hamsters age, they do sleep more and their mobility will be slower. They won`t have that same vitality they once had and sometimes you need to look at their diet and decide if they still eat enough of require supplementation. What age is Twix? Are her teeth okay? This can be a sign that something is wrong if she`s not managing to eat, or she may be feeling cold or ill. So determine what that is first. Hamsters that stop eating or are trying to eat but have difficulty may need to see a vet. x
