Busy Freya... still up and digging at 8.40am
Well... I had a lovely surprise when I got up this morning. There was Freya. Under her wheel, looking all lively. She willingly came for cuddles and helped me make some much needed coffee. Then has a little spin around in her ball.
I had to drop my hubby off to Dr's so I tidyed her cage from the little digging under her wheel and popped Freya back in.
40 minutes I returned and found that hammy world had been turned over!!!
There she was firmly tucked under her wheel, a little cave hideaway from the world, I thought she was actually asleep in there, but no. I think she was trying to be invisible as I took in the carnage!
I redid all her substrate on Tuesday, and took out her dig box to swap for a little labrinth box. Well she hadn't been digging for weeks...
Dagnabbit she's dug now!

Aww bless her lol. I always worry when they dig under the wheel like that, that it will topple over and fall on them, it never has so they must be fantastic construction artists I love the photo of her snuggled under her wheel

That's amazing! They will burrow under anything. It was because Almond burrows so much and flings substrate all over the place that I decided to build him his IKEA Knuff house. Now his bath and his small water bottle are safe from flying substrate. I tend to have his wheel on the floor of the cage so he doesn't burrow under it. Sometimes it works, other times, not so much. I wonder why they do that? *sigh* Could the wheel actually fall on her?

I am surprised it doesn't fall on her to be fair, she does do a great job. But i think that they must feel stability whilst digging... it hasn't fallen yet lol
