Does this mean anything?
Hey all,
I've spotted Teddy on her back and grooming her belly several times this past couple of weeks. Nothing seems amiss and she's still eating, playing, sleeping and doing her merry-go-potty (that's when she spins really fast on the wheel with a small twig or something else she doesn't display interest in immediately after pottying in it to let me know it needs a clean. She runs until it gets to the speed she likes and then stops when she notices me there, enjoying the wheel like a merry go round) Because of this, I don't think anything is amiss but I have also heard that a hamster goes on its back because it's scared and none of my other hammies do this. Hazel Nut and Chublet (and Patch) have groomed themselves in front of me numerous times and each time they do their belly, they're on their hind legs. Is Teddy just being a bit odd or is it possible this is a sign that something may be wrong? She also only does it on one very specific spot--the small bit of free area between her litter box, wheel, a large grapevine log, and her dry food bowl. At first I thought she fell or something but I've watched her specifically go to that place and then stop, groom, then roll on her back and groom her belly.
