Willows lack of interest in coming out of her cage
Hi, I know I'm probably being a little over reactive but this past week my little Willow does not want to come out for playtime, she is eating ok and doing everything else it just that she has a lack of interest in coming out for a run, and when we do manage to get her out she is not out long before she goes Back to her bed. We try and coax her out but all she does is poke her nose out and goes back in again. She is about 16 months old, and I was wondering if I have something to worry about.

Nope. At about fifty five to sixty years in human terms, she has the right to want to sit around and knit, arrrange her knickknacks, snooze and decide to lay low. It's midwinter, shortest days of the year, etc, etc....? People aren't the only creatures with moods

Keep an eye on Willow for any sudden changes, some hammies as they get older they slow down.
It could also be the weather, the last 5 days have been colder, so make sure she's got extra bedding.
Mind are out less because of that, they sleep longer and store more food.

Obviously you'll want to keep an eye on her in case anything is wrong & I think it's natural to worry about changes in behaviour but she sounds ok to me, it could be the weather or just a bit of a phase, mine can get like that sometimes & have had a few more lie ins the last few days with it having been a lot colder.

Mine is called willow too and is equally fickle. Have u had your willow since she was a baby? I rehomed mine nearly a month ago she is ten months. She has had two v quiet days this week but I am.yet to know her 'usual' routine as she is v changeable and moody. Yours sounds ok as she is eating ok and stuff.

She was having a few lazy days, she's up and about today - that's great!
My female ham has been spinning on her flying saucer since the back of 7am!

Good to hear Willow is out and about today!
She was having a few lazy days, they can be unpredictable at times but, that's what I love about them!

Re: Willows lack of interest in coming out of her cage
Glad Willow is ok I wonder if was just because it's been a bit colder recently and she just wanted to stay in her nice warm bed
PS, you were right the first time, she is just over 16 months old
