Default hamster gets up LATE

So over the past 2 weeks my hamster has weirdly got up really late between 10-1am it is 11pm right now and my hamster is still asleep. I woke it up but he just went straight back to bed. Nothing has changed in his cage or surroundings and hea starting to stress me out as I can't get him excersise in his ball as well as his wheel. Anything I can do?

I'm sure it's to do with the change in weather and temperatures, I too have also noticed changes in my hamsters routine, they sleep more and play less and this I noticed after the clocks changing and the long dark nights began.
I have been checking more on my hammies, increased their bedding and keep my heating on 24/7 so they're nice and cosy.
Try not to worry about it but check on him more and if he doesn't want to play don't stress yourself out because they can sense it. Hope this puts you at ease.

My hamster, during the winter, began to wake up a lot later than in the summer.
I think it is to do with the temperature and the seasons.
This also happens/happened to my friends hamsters.

I am glad its not just mine! The reason I am still up tonight and worrying about hamsters is because willow doesn't have her active patch till eleven o clock or later and she is one who climbs the walls if she doesn't get time out of her cage. We have just had playtime and she is happily asleep again. Hmm. I wonder if its possible to get them to wake up earlier. Do they get affected by us using electric light in the evenings?

My hams change from month to month! They tend to get up about 15 minutes to 1/2 hour earlier each few days. Before I know it, they are day hammies!!! Then they keep doing it until they are night hammies. Right now Almond is an evening hammy and Nutmeg is getting up around 1am. What you can try to do is to start "accidently" bumping the cage a little earlier each day until hammy gets up at a better hour for you. It does work sometimes.
