Default Hamster Hopping

Okay, so this is very adorable, but a little odd...

Puff has recently picked up the trait of standing up on her hind legs and hopping around. She does it really quickly for a short period of time, and then falls back onto her front lags and gallops along. Is this something to be worried about? Does it mean anything?

It's almost as though she's looking up, so could it be she just wants to climb higher and is trying to stretch up?

Thanks!

You're sure it's not a gerbil?

Haven't seen that, but I've seen some behavior and moves more appropriate to people , or cats from my hams on occasion....lol.....

Sounds like she can't decide whether to meerkat, or trot along, and so does both?

Haha, she'd be a very odd gerbil if she was!

Sounds like it. Maybe she's jealous of the meerkat moves

Awh, bless little Puff. She's had a super hard day; she moved house, she learnt how to use her wheel and she's been on it non stop, she met new people and she's been out in my room for the last hour and a half. I just found her curled up in a little ball in the corner of my room, fast asleep. I've popped her back in her cage hoping she'll get a good night's rest! Poor little thing!
