Default Lazy Hamster!

Hello

My hamster Chilli is very lazy. She does not use her wheel or saucer (both 12''), she seems to spend the majority of her time sitting on the shelf by her water bottle. The only time I've seen her use the wheel is the day I put it in there. She will hop on the saucer run a few paces then get off again! I let her run around my study, hall and bathroom which she seems to enjoy like a normal hamster. Her favourite thing to do is climb in the folders on my bookshelf and she has learnt to pull them out so she can climb inside. When I'm short on time she goes in the ball, she will run for about 5-10 mins then just sits so I put her away.

Has anyone else had a hamster this lazy?

Steph

My dwarf is always on the go but my Syrian Roland can be quite lazy some days as someday he just doesn't want to come out and other days he will come out play for 20 minutes half an hour then snuggle down for a sleep other days he'll be out and be non stop. I think if she's constantly tired a lethargic you should bring her to the vets to get checked out better safe that sorry. Unless anyone else has experienced this a has an explanation

We don't call them lazy....not within their hearing range. We call them 'contemplative'

Ziggy might just be up for Laziness awards...going on ten months, he's hardly a busy little beaver of any kind....This week he's spending inordinate amounts of time in his new nest....in the detachable carry pod on top of his cage; all nestled in tissue and bedding. These days, I get nervous if he is too active...its so unlike him , lol....

He will accept treats if you hold it long enough for him to poke his head out. Try to open his eyes, sniff.....sniff more......sniff......eyes open.....snif......then he takes the treat and slithers back into his nest....crunch, crunch......

Kinda like me on the weekends......

I'm glad I'm not the only one then! She doesn't sleep too much or seem tired but like her owner she doesn't run!

If God wanted us to run, we'd have been born with Nikes
