Miss Madison :/
Hi all,
Miss Madison is such a confident and brazen little girl but the last few days she has been acting very strange. She's never known anything other than my house but this week I am having to dog sit in a new house and so I obviously brought her along.
Now I know not to mix the two so she is in a very safe place and the dogs are never near her. I wash my hands and change my clothes before attending to her but she is sooo scared. She is unwilling to come out of the cage and when I've put her in a safe room (supervised at all times) she just sits in a corner. I've been holding her, and speaking to her softly - two things she never usually withstands! - but she is just terrified.
Is it the general dog smell in the house do you think? She is physically fine, btw.
any suggestions much appreciated I am very worried.
Best,
H x

Re: Miss Madison :/
Any suggestions as to what I can do to make her feel more safe and relaxed? Or just get her out of the environment?
Thanks for the reply x

Re: Miss Madison :/
I came home smelling like dog once and my Syrian froze completely for almost 20 minutes, it was pretty scary tbh. It's definitely the smell and if the dogs live in the house then it's going to be everywhere. Is there no one who can pop in to take care of her at your house? She'd maybe be better off not getting a run around for a few days than being stressed.

Re: Miss Madison :/
How far are you from home? As neither hams or dogs need 24 hour care if possible I'd take her back home where she feels safe & just check on her once or twice a day while you dog sit.

Hi everyone, sorry for not posting much recently but I thought I would update everyone on little Miss. Madison. She's just been the most lovely hamster and I cannot believe that she's almost 1 year old now.
I hope everyone is well,
Hannah x

LOL. I love her hairdo! She's adorable. She likes her broccoli, doesn't she?

Re: Miss Madison :/
.... Yeah she's my little punk Her fur is usually much nicer but she had a thorough check up last night and mummy hadn't given her chance to brush her hair before the photoshoot.
She's actually a very fussy little girl; she doesn't just stuff food in her pouches she will sit there and munch her way through something if she deems it worthy of her tummy. X

Re: Miss Madison :/
She sounds like my female, she'll sit there and munch away through something she loves usually on her flying saucer!
