Re: Charlie got scared - gone to roost
I like the stand. Looks neat.
The bottle for us it ok. It saves having to mess about with the wire that comes with the water bottles and trying to latch it on, the ball type bottle was squirting water out when putting the wire on it to secure it. My wife finds it easier to fill.

Re: Charlie got scared - gone to roost
Maybe the rabbit ones are better than the hamster ones, it's a while since I had mine but I remember it being awkward & leaky, I could have been unlucky though!

Re: Charlie got scared - gone to roost
It could be the fact that the rabbit ones are larger and made better. I dont think ours leaks and the rabbit spends ages drinking from it, where she used to drink less but more often from the ball type bottle which leaked.

No need to remove the bottle from the cage.

Yup - that one has just arrived - for the reasons you say - it stays fastened to the cage and easy to remove, but wanted two bottles in case one fails, but it does look a funny angle to drink from (Upside down?!!) so I can see why you didn't like it cypher. I keep reading about people saying bottles leak all the time and strangely I haven't had that problem with any of them. At the moment I've got the mouse sized classic bottle (like the one in the Getzoo stand) and a Honey and Hopper glass one. Neither leak - the honey and hopper one is easier for Charlie to get water out of though (ie it works!) - I'm not sure how good the little classic mouse one is for getting water out of - so if it is no good. just hope another bottle fits the stand! Unfortunately it is the honey and hopper one that clangs and is noisy to take in and out (and heavier when it slips!) - it's a pig to keep on the cage.
Yes I will be really glad when there is one on a stand in the cage!

I thought they were all ball-type? Are rabbit ones different then?

I got it direct from Rodipet, with the help of google translate lol! Postage was pretty horrendous but they had quite a few things I wanted, great houses so I did one big spoil the hams rotten spend!
I use the classic mouse bottles & only find they drip a bit, I usually put a little saucer underneath as they all seem to like to lap up the the little puddle.

Re: Charlie got scared - gone to roost
Thanks cypher. Well - poor Charlie. This morning we went down and found that the big glass bottle had fallen sideways AGAIN. I was a bit worried in case he had been drinking out of it when it fell and could have hurt his mouth. Peeked in the front of his house and thought I saw blood on the tissue - but it wasn't it was a bit of carrot! Phew. I think he is ok - he seems ok. So - took it out completely and screwed in the Ferplast sippy which has arrived. Charlie didn't seem too nervous this morning - he came out to investigate what I was doing - although he doesn't like me messing about with the cage he seemed quite pleased the big bottle had gone, but couldn't work out how to drink out of the Ferplast sippy - but he still has the mouse bottle. I got the case of the Ferplast sippy unit screwed in through the bars eventually then decided it was in the wrong place and now can't get it out again! It'll have to stay there for now - he can reach it, if he works out how to use it. He came out in his ball this morning for a run around - reckon he was glad to be out of the cage where things kept banging and falling over! He seems a bit scared of our little boy at the moment though and dives in his bed when he speaks to him. I'm sure that'll wear off and little boy wasn't bothered as he just wanted the TV on first thing! He also seems to have a thing about my partner's feet (he had a good sniff at his socks that had been left hanging somewhere - ugh - maybe they are cheesy lol.

Re: Charlie got scared - gone to roost
I have the Ferplast sippy on the inside of the cage because I couldn't get the nozzle through the bars, even after taking it off.
