Squeaking hamsters
My two little dwarfs, Pocky And Miso, are snuggled up in their bed this morning. But I heard a few small squeaks, so I went over and moved their bed to have a look. But when I looked they were just lying curled up together looking at me because I'd took their bed away from them lol. Has anyone else had hamsters squeaking like this because I'm not sure what it means.
Ps there was only like 2 little squeaks which were quite quiet

Re: Squeaking hamsters
It could of been them dreaming or having a little squabble over who gets the space in the bed. It's usually normal and if they are fine together, I wouldn't worry, maybe keep a little eye on them if you feel it's necessary

Re: Squeaking hamsters
Okay thank you, I'm very watchful over them at the moment since they had a little squabble when I first brought them home but they seem to have settled now. I heard the squeaks at the same time yesterday too, the hammies didn't seem distressed or anything though, just curled up together as usual. I'll just keep an eye on them and try to figure out the reason for the squeaks if it continues lol

Re: Squeaking hamsters
i've never had my hamster squeak while sleeping and i doubt there dreaming is causing the squeaks ._. hamsters usually make noise when they are in some sort of pain or maybe it's another reason so consider checking other symptoms or signs of pain if not you should be fine unless they repeat the squeaking.

Re: Squeaking hamsters
Well they don't seem stressed or hurt, they're currently running around their cage playing with their toys I'll just keep an eye on them

Re: Squeaking hamsters
In my experience and many posters on this forums, hamsters can make squeaking noises in their sleep.
If they're asleep what other conclusions can people draw except for dreaming?
As with all pairs watch out for anything unusual, such as big squabbles loud squeaking.
Just to be certain they are both the same sex right?
100% verified by you/others...
If you picked them up at a chain pet store I would be very wary taking their word on sexing.

Re: Squeaking hamsters
Pet shop said they were females, checked them and they look like males to me, also posted them on here and people agree that they're males, however they are both definitely the same sex.

Re: Squeaking hamsters
Yeah don't think I could cope with any more babies two is enough lol! And perhaps they were just dreaming, it was only a little quiet squeak, didn't sound like much (like a major fight or anything). Dreaming would make sense since Pocky sleeps A LOT ^-^
