Is it normal for hamsters to fall asleep on you?
My hamster ginger falls asleep on me a lot. In fact she's currently asleep on my arm! (I've attached some photos as it's pretty cute!) Is this a sleeping problem or is she just comfortable?

She is just comfortable, most likely. This is often happens with Chinese hamsters! It is super cute
Obviously, if she is always sleeping in and out of the cage then you may need to address the matter further.

That is the cutest thing!! What a snuggle bug! I agree with the above. Just keep an eye on it.

Re: Is it normal for hamsters to fall asleep on you?
I honestly can't imagine any of my hamsters falling asleep while out of the cage- they are all so hyper active Some hamsters are a lot more laid back than others and are a lot calmer outside the cage but constant sleeping is probably isn't normal.

Re: Is it normal for hamsters to fall asleep on you?
Thanks for the advice she's 1 and a half years old now and has done it ever since I got her (when she was 2 months old!). Doesn't really matter what time of day. She's quite lively too but if it's more than 20 minutes outside of the cage she'll come sit on me, make herself comfortable and fall asleep. I have quite a small room so she doesn't go in her ball much (I let her run around on a big double bed to her hearts delight) and she's never tried to escape, follows me around the room but doesn't do it to anyone else. Very odd hamster :P

That's cute though. If she's been doing it for a year and a half, I can't imagine it wod indicate anything wrong.

Ok. I think I've just got worried because shes doing it more but I suppose it could just be her getting older
