Re: My boys and girl really want to "get together"!
I held them against a tape measure and Gizmo and Penny both look to be about 6".
I think Gizmo just had a bad reaction to the aspen I put in his cage yesterday. It sounded like he started coughing or something. Kinda like a chirping but he was doing it a lot, even when I was holding him. My gut says it was respiratory. I took him out and he slowed down a bit and finally stopped and when I put him back in with the Kaytee only, he isn't doing it anymore and is running on his wheel. He was laying in a corner of the tank where he had pushed the bedding out of the way.
kyrilliondaemon do you have any tips or are you just lucky? lol

Huh, odd. It can sometimes be dusty, but I've never had my hams have coughing with it (though Java got little red dots on her feet). Do you know what substrate he was kept in before he came to you?

Re: My boys and girl really want to "get together"!
It made me cough a little bit yesterday but I didn't see any dust. I also just sneezed after cleaning it up. I really don't remember what they were using. I know it wasn't wood of any kind. but it's just not coming to me. All I remember is the Crittertrail and a chewed up bandana they slept under. I assume they had bedding but I can't even be sure.

Hmm. I wouldn't rule the aspen as the source of the coughing since it makes my SO and I sneeze ourselves. Do Penny and Wicket have it too?

Re: My boys and girl really want to "get together"!
No, only Gizmo. I bought a small bag and mixed it with Kaytee (what he had before) when I set up his tank last night. I had also put it in his dig box and he wouldn't touch it. He wanted right out, whereas before he'd hang out in it and groom and forage.
I actually put it in all 3 dig boxes and none of them want anything to do with it.

Haha maybe they like the softness of the kaytee. Try to get some boxo once you run out of kaytee. Perhaps you can find a use for the aspen elsewhere.

I did order some Boxo! Waiting for it to arrive. I got the uhh 51L or 50 something. lol I'm going to chuck the aspen. I only have a little bit left and none of them seem to like it.

Yay boxo buddies! I'm still mixing the aspen but I lobe the boxo much more and it's cheaper!

Ok, I'm going to ask others on a separate thread for several opinions.
