Also one slightly crazy thing we noticed with Scamp - if her store got too big she stopped running. None of our others seem to be worried about how big their store is but if Scamp had too much stored she stopped using her wheel at all until her store was smaller again.
.

Thank for kind advise..the wheel seems a lot bigger than it is obviously.I have just measured it and its only 7"!!!...youre right.I am not following my own advise. It is the 3rd one I have bought so Im getting confused.I tried her with a larger size than recommended flying saucer wheel, she didnt bother with that either tho.Although she fits in it to run flatish I will take that into consideration.
As for her store..she takes EVERYTHING into it and leaves her dish empty,so I am monitoring how much to give her as most of it gets thrown out after 3 days. This is the first hamster I have had for years and Id forgotten what characters they are.
Another point to consider then, thanks again!

I'm glad you didn't mind my observations. Good luck getting her to run, hopefully a bigger wheel will help since that one is only 7"

If you're clearing her store that often it probably won't be that she's being awkward like Scamp was but I swear Scamp did half the things she did just to confuse the humans lol

I think she may be a bit shy of using it as I turned the wheel round to face inwards last night, and Im sure at 3 am this morning (I was up to get a drink )that she had been onboard.
They dont seem to make the Flying Saucer wheels in a a good size for a Syrian.Medium are much too small and the 12 " is too large to fit in most cages.
Anyway its a positive,thanks.

wow, my hamster Myachick and Dumpling they are so lazy that they truly wake up around 1am and go to sleep around 7-8am. And Myachick can sleep through hours on the sofa doing nothing but enjoying being petted....

Any advice to get them more active and playful?
I thought about them being too fat since I feed them pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, peaconut, dry carots, oxbow, and some other grains as main dish. But they are 151g and 142g as the age of 6 month old.
Please help, I get a little bit worried
