Can anyone please suggest any ideas on how I can make my hamsters home more environmentally enriched?
My Kit Kat occasionally chews on the corner of the aquarium. I've read that hamsters chew out of boredom or lack of chews. She has lots of different chew toys but doesn't use any of them.
- twined wood ball
- apple sticks
- chew log
- twined Timothy hay sticks
- Lolo treat filled chew puzzle
- wooden rainbow chew
The only thing she does chew on are her Alligator Whimzees and dog treats. She doesn't even chew on any of her plastic toys or home, not that she is meant to, it's just that I find it odd.
I've tried rubbing scents on her toys but she only nibbled on it and left it after she realized that it wasn't what it was scented like.
So aside from chews I'd also like to know what I can give her for entertainment. She has two puzzle playgrounds and a wodent wheel. She also seems a bit to small for Lolo rolls.
If she isn't trying to chew the corner, and it's the same corner every time, then she is climbing on her puzzle playground to try and get out. She is addicted to her ball and she never tried to get out until after her first time in the ball. I've also tried to handle her in the tub or on my bed but she becomes shaky and jumpy in the new surroundings.
