Default Bar Chewing & Lazy Hammy!

Hi,
I have a Syrian Hamster, Penny, who is about 10 months old. I have 2 duna fun large cages connected for his house. the wheel that came with it was too small, so i got a large PAH wheel (a rat wheel, to make sure it was big enough) and he doesn't use it. So i took some advice on here and got a silent spinner wheel, which he also doesn't use!

i've got a wooden house, which he bites sometimes, some loofah toys, wooden sticks etc all round the cage as well as a large mineral stone (which he doesnt touch) and a small mineral stone in the other cage.

in total in the cages i have:
Wheel corny
cosy pocket
wooden house
castle house (where he nests)
silent spinner
wheel
large mineral stone
treat stick
sticks
tunnels x 2
play sticks
wooden balls
wooden chain

so i think we've got loads of things in the cage, but still he bites the bars on his cage and will not use his wheels. Quite a lazy hamster! How do i get my hammy to exercise more?

thanks

Some hamsters just are obsessed with bars! We had a lamp we would turn off when play time was over and on most occasions after awhile bar chewing would stop and she'd find something else to do as the required attention was gone. Some nights though she would refuse to stop.

Do you scatter his food at all? You could try hiding his favourite bits of food around the cage and his very favourite in his wheel? All bar one of our hamsters enjoyed a 5 minute run around in their balls.

Hello your hamster totally knows he hasn't flying saucer and thrown tantrums about. Hehhehe
On serious note flying saucer might be good idea if he isn't using his wheel.
