Default nibbling my hand

So my little Peanut was starting to relate my hand with food too much and was starting to nibble at me more and more looking for the food even when I had none. So the last few days i have been training her to associate a clicking noise with food and not my hand by making the noise when i had food and not when i didn't and letting her come and smell my hand and see I didn't have any. This is the progress so far.

That's brilliant! I love working with voice with hammies, but some hamsters don't seem to respond so well.
My Todd and Finley are doing pretty well. I now have Todd coming back to the sound of his name when I let him out to run around my room, and he comes and hops back in my hand, but I try to keep it to the same tone and volume to make it easier. Finley knows when I have a treat by my gently calling "Fin-Fin".
They both respond to the same clicking noise you use.

I think you've made great progress, her response seems to be almost immediate. I love hammie training, it seems to strengthen the bond with them don't you think?

She seems to be a quick learner. that video was taken on the 2nd day of teaching. so far she knows the clicking sound and to get on my hand when i put it flat on the floor of the cage. I think I will try teaching her her name next I'm really surprised at how much we have bonded and how much she trusts me its like she has been here for months but it has only been 2 weeks

You are so lucky! I've been using treats for weeks and using the clicking and calling his name, but he still hides for ages before getting brave enough to come get the treat! Sometimes I'll go near and say his name and he'll jump and run a mile! It's slow progress this time I thinm you'll have a real cuddler on your hands here

I know what you mean. My Fin is a very nervous, skittish hamster. When I first brought him home he was terrified and really jumpy, so I really worked with voice to gain his trust. Within a fortnight he was out for cuddles and snuggling under my chin, and I can really see how much we've bonded by how he reacts to other people (primarily, biting them ). He has learnt a few words/sounds now, so proud of him.

Plus little Toddy, who I adore. We have a lovely close bond, to the point where he completely and utterly trusts me, and actually loves to be held and petted.
