Default Russian hamster around a yr never been handled...

I know someone who no longer wants their hamster, all I know is that it is a Russian hamster around a year old and had never been held so isn't too friendly.. My question is would it be able to tame this hamster to some degree or will he or she have gone wild as you may be able to tell I don't have to much information about the hamster

I think with a lot tlc and patience you will be able to tame them. I have heard of hamsters over a year old that have little to no handling and have turned into snuggly happy hammys

Aww that's nice to hear, this poor little hamster has never been help and they just don't want it so I'm thinking I may have to adopt it as at least I would care about it and be willing to give it a home and let him or her out and try to give him/her a happy home

All hamsters deserve a chance at happiness so I would say go for it. when I bought carmine home he used to scream at me and freak out when I went near his cage, He is now very cuddly and never bites ever and sleeps at the end of my bed for about an hour most nights I love the challenge of taming a hamster that has never been handled before as its more rewarding

If it helps my Wilbur was 8 months when i got her and a robo. She would scream at me or run and hide from me.Within 2/3 weeks she was jumping on my hand. She absolutely loves coming out now usually 3 times a day as i can't resist her gorgeous face

Mabel i rescued at 12 months and have had her around 3 weeks now she is also a robo and is a such a little sweetie. Its like she appreciates being loved.

Rescuing is so rewarding and if you have the space and time i say go for it, you wont regret it Though i'm warning you, rescuing can become rather addictive!!

Thank you very much for that, that's what I was hoping to hear, I just feel so sorry for the poor little ham sat all alone unloved, uncared for and basically not wanted, poor thing, its nice to hear that it is possible to to get them to accept the love and care and get them to learn to like the attention

Also any taming tips would be appreciated
