Rub and shake!

Quick question, that I assume I already know the answer to. But just wondering if I'm right. Our female Syrian, Wilson, has a favourite spot. Up in the corner of her cage is a platform of sorts of little wooden logs. It's bendable and I have it slightly curved. She loves it up there, and grooms herself usually in that spot. She also has a rubbing ritual. Mostly she first wakes up, she hops up there and stretches then rubs against the side, then rubs again and then does a twitchy shake thing, and rubs on her bars, and back to the side of the wooden logs. She just goes crazy!!! It's hilarious!! She does it so much that the logs are getting worn in that area. Is she just scent marking her favourite spot? And being so crazy about it because she LOVES it and it feels good? Or is she just being weird? Lol

I think it must feel good and it's scent marked as hers. This is a contented little ham who has a nice little ritual going on.

Awwww thanks, we love her, and she is wonderful. I'm happy that she is happy! Must get her rub and shake on video!

P.s. she also loves to be rubbed and petted, hamster massages are the best!

My weird, yet adorable little hammy (well actually my sons, but I won't split hairs), was actually doing the rub and shake on ME last night!!! She was very attentive last night and she was rubbing all over my legs as we sat on his bed! She is a nutter!! Hard to believe I waited over 40 years to be entertained by a hammy!!
