Tonight Tati was doing the weirdest thing - she looked like she was bathing in her shavings in the corner behind her wheel. That is one of her favourite spots to hang out but I've never seen her do this. She was rolling around and then grooming herself. She has never been interested in bathing in her sand - she mostly uses that as a place to pee lol! Has anyone ever seen this before? I'm just curious!
My GiGi does this quite often. She has sand, but like Tati, she isn't usually interested unless there's a mealworm there waiting for her.
She will roll around in her wheel though. Which is pretty hilarious. Or she will in her nest sometimes. She has even stopped and done it in my lap before, which was very cute.
I don't think much of it. It does make me smile though.
Probably scent marking? Carmine does this in the corner behind his wheel and this a where he hoards some of his food. Also his wheel, his (blanket) an old scarf he pinched off me, my OH's leg and last night my face he rolls around on something or rubs his sides against it
I've seen some of mine do this too. My little Todd uses the space behind his wheel as his 'bathroom' and a couple times I've seen him dig around in it or roll. It's usually when I spot clean his wet corner, so it might just be related to scent. He rolls in his sand normally, but he does occasionally do this.
