Default Why is She squeaking?

I have had my two russian dwarfs for just over 3 weeks. They are both females and were living happily together until a few days when they started to fight. Neither were injured, but as one is a lot larger than the other, I decided to separate them for both their safety. The problem is..... Since being in their new homes they squeak every time I go near them. They have never bitten and are very tame usually. I am worried they may be missing eachother and obviously they need to get used to living alone. Does anyone have any advice on the best thing to do? Shall I just leave them to settle in? And also should I try reintroducing them to one another at some point? Not to share a home but perhaps in their play pen?

It can take about 10 days for them to settle and get used to living on their own. They likely feel unsettled just now so give them a bit more time and always make sure they know you are coming to pick them by talking and giving a little treat. I'd keep taking them out though and handling. They normally become more people friendly when alone.
I would not try and reintroduce. It sounds as if one has been bullying the other away from the food dish if it is larger and also once they have fought they are likely to do so again and it may end up much worse nest time.
No playdates either as hamsters just do not need these and they could fight then too.

We often get that in the shop I work at. When some of the dwarfs have been fighting we split them up and put them in separate cages, but every time anyone goes near the tank they squeak as if they thing any advance is a threat. Especially with the really bullied ones, like they've been really shaken up. Poor babies.

Normally it just take a few days of peace and quiet to let them settle down, then we start doing some short handling practice to warm them up to people.
