Hello I got a winter white a few days ago. Everything was going fine til today. Yesturday she would walk on my hand and kind of nibble. Didnt hurt wasnt to hard. Well today she got on my hand and actually broke skin and would not come off. I always wash my hands and I do not wake her. She is very curious I also saw her chew the ball and toliet papertube. She does have chew toys. Thank you wise mistics.
It is quite unusual for pure winter whites to bite. If you bought your new hamster from a pet shop then it would be wiser to refer to it as a hybrid dwarf rather than a winter white as you do not know for sure if it is pure or not.
Hybrid dwarfs can be biters. There will be plenty of info on this website about trying to tame one. there is a search button at the top right of this page.
