Default Peeing in tubes

I've got my one hamster in a rotastak cage and he always uses the tubes as a toilet and obviously it drips straight through. Any ideas on how to stop this?

Get a different cage? Without tubes?

You could give him a potty. Put some chinchilla sand in and he may well start using that instead. All mine seem to like peeing in their sand.

We had a male that did this and we never found a solution.

try reconfiguring the tubes is your only option
he will come back no matter what you do
potties are more popular with females and dwarf hamsters than syrians and males especially

My male syrian does this also!

I have the rotastake cage and it has a 'L' shape tube he always toilets in so I dont really have the problem with him doing this as it doesn't leak. My old hamster did it too but we always just had to make do.

I think the idea with the paper around the outside might be the easiest option
