Cool sleeping upside down in tube

Ive had my syrain Dexter since the 24th dec. Hes still a little jittery but hes gettting used to me. I wanted to ask a question about his sleeping habits.

He has a tube on top of his cage and he keeps sleeping in there. Ut he sleeps with his head upside down. Like on the drop to his platform. Hes got food up there and hes taken some of his bedding. The tube is a real tight fit, he ends up with his face up against the tube - its so cute but scary too.

This cant be good for him though, right? The blood going to his head when hes upside down and the snug fit aroind him.

Also, will he grow out of this? Ive had 3 syrians before him and they never did this. Ever.

What cage is Dexter in?

If he's making a nest in the tube (which it sounds like) this isn't good for him. Mainly becuase of little space and condensation that builds in the tubes. I'd reccomend removing the tubes, and giving him a nice sized house suitable for syrians, so he can make his nest there instead.

Rhanks for your reply, he already has a house... hes also made another little nest o he corner. He doesnt go into the house at all. Then other cage i have was for my female syrian who was very large... so changing his cage wouldnt be a good idea (its very tall) hes real small and im scared he will fall as i had a slight situation with my other syrian.

Ive had previous hamsters in this cage before and none of them done that. I was thinking that maybe because he was still with a bunch of others when i got him and wih the box he was in being fairly small that maybe he was trying to adjust to having too much room?

You could get some hammocks to break a fall or if it's a barred cage you can get corner shelves to make more levels. What cage is he in? Other users might be able to suggest some ideas for you

Definitely worth taking the tubes out though until he's set up a nest in the main part of the cage

The best thing to do now is remove the tubes. Then he can move into one of his other nests

If you are scared he will fall, you could maybe remove some levels? What cage is he in now?

My hamster sometimes did that too but he doesn't seem to be harmed by it. I did recently change his cage though to a bin cage, but not for that reason. Unfortunately for him, he no longer has tubes. He wouldn't sleep in his hut at first either, so I had to train him to use it and now he does.
