Default Squeaking while scratching

One of my dwarf hamsters has begun to lightly squeak while she scratches one particular ear but I'm at a loss at what it could be. She only started recently, and she doesn't squeak while scratching anywhere else. She also doesn't scratch excessively. She's pure white and I've checked for mites but she has no bites or any scabs or scratches anywhere. I've even checked the ear and there seems to be no bleeding or any irritation, at least of what I can see. My boyfriend says leave her alone cause she's probably just enjoying a good ear scratch lol but it worries me. If she was doing it all the time I'd take her to the vet but so far it's just every now and then.
