I think you question has been answered. Putting them in a new, larger cage WILL be the thing that causes the first fight. It is amazing how two female syrians have stayed together so long and I'm sure deep down you know if you keep them together something bad will happen and you did a kind thing rescuing them so if I was you I'd find them both suitable cages and split them as soon as.

I've personally had 2 sister syrians that did not work out. They lived together peacefully for quite a while, then I'd start to hear the squeaking and see the fights. I got bit really hard when I went in to separate them (lots of blood!). I'm sure they would have killed each other. (this was all before I found HC and learned better)
Save yourself the headache and hassle and just separate.
