Default Rotastak - something to try...

If you have Rotastak and you have a Syrian, while your hamster's asleep, put wood shavings down one of the vertical tubes so that it blocks it up but so that it's not compact but loose.

Your hamster *should* burrow his way through it and clear the 'burrow collapse'.

I wouldn't do it too often but would suggest it after you've cleaned the hamster's cage cos the wood shavings you use can be the covering for the floor after the hamster's finished.

Oh, I'd best add - be with your hamster the first time he tries it!
