leap of faith ?

recently I put my hamster on a low stool. he will walk to edges, look down and back away. however in a bit, he will gather this courage and tries to slide off the edge and of course I'll catch him with my hand or the cup.

put him on the stool again and this time more daring, especially when he sees my hand somewhere near, he will jump again. not exactly jump, more to slide down with his back paws gripping on the plastic stool.

I think he knows the danger if he jumps off by himself but he's so sure I would catch him, he look so smug. lol. its one of those children stool.

Hehe Thistle is exactly like this! She is always nervous at first but as soon as she knows she will be caught it becomes one big game and the moment you put her down she legs it to the edge to slide off again They must really have some faith in us, either that or they love the rush of jumping off high ledges!

lol. yesterday I almost didn't catch him but he landed on my hand and cup, lucky dude. once he's in the cup, he gets frantic so I put him out again to play the same thing.

Felix does this with me i sometimes put him oh a shelf in my bookcase as he enjoys walking over books but he also likes to dangle over edge knowing i will catch him haha.

This used to be Mo's favourite game - she'd leap off the edge where her cage was kept knowing that I would be there to catch her. Sill ham!
