Default Taming advice?

Hey everyone! My little darling Napoleon has been settling in to his new home about 3 weeks now. He's a very inquisitive and funny little guy.

Since I removed the tubes from his Hamster Heaven cage (after some helpful advice from you guys) he's starting to tame pretty well. I can stroke him, scoop him up (while still in the cage) and feed him lil treats with ease. However, when I do pick him up, after a few seconds he leaps from my hands like a slippery bar of soap! I've been trying to scoop him up, hold him for a sec, then place him back down again to re-assure him he's safe. But I was wondering if there was anything else I could be doing... I want to be able to take him out of his cage and give him cuddles and let him roam etc!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

p.s. here' s a recent piccie of him looking super cute!

Total cutie pie!
Have you tried sitting in the bath and handling him? He can't get out of the bath and as with all hammies patience is the key :0).
Smudge sometimes turns into a slippery bar of soap and he's tame.

You'll be the best of friends soon!
