Default Hamsters and sweetcorn

My hamsters like sweetcorn. However all they do is eat the endosperm -the pointy bit at the top- and leave the rest of the seed alone.
Is this common for others?

Ours all eat it all ....and with great relish - they seem to LOVE it! I pick the kernels off the raw cobs for them (I'm hoping to have our own from our allotment to give them soon )

Ours can strip a whole sweetcorn cob in a night. They love it. Not sure how much they eat but they do store a whole lot
