Unhappy should I stop playtime????

Today I took Chompy out of her cage in her ball, walked out onto my hand and into her playpen fine, i filled it full of toys and hid treats too.

But she seemed to spend most of her time running round the sides of the pen - really fast and kept really low to the floor.

She found the treats and played for about 2 mins, then carried on running up and down the sides of the pen

So my question is this....
Is she scared of being out of her cage and should I stop it??
or will she get used to it?????

I dont want her to feel scared or have any negative feelings towards me as its me who is putting her in a situation that she doesn't like.

The exact thing happens to Arrow when she gets in her playbin. But I leave her there until she calms down adn everything is easy street! I just think that its a question of her getting used to being in a confined area that isn't her cage that's the case with my dwarfie anyways

I think it sounds like she's exploring and sniffing, running and trying to get out of the pen to explore even more space xD Pringles does that too, but in between he sometimes dig in the sandbath or runs in the wheel or climbs over the over toys. How does your playpen looks like? Have you a picture of it?

Sounds like you've got lots of hideys, but might be an idea to just put more out. Hamsters don't like wide open spaces (due to predation) but I'm sure after a while of quiet talking while out she'll get used to the fact that it's safe.
