Tech help needed - How to post larger photos.

Hi guys

I am wanting to enter the hamster of the month competition but need some help. Whenever I put a photo in a post (no matter the size of the photo) it comes out as a small thumbnail which then enlarges when you hover on it. I would like to enter a larger photo in the text - as most people do in the competition.

Could someone please tell me how to do this.
