Thought that i would do my roborovski's mini duna cage a little review.

The Mini Duna is pretty big even though its named the Mini Duna !

I would not however house a Syrian Hamster in it - a dwarf yes !

If you want to house a syrian in it you could look at the Duna Fun.

Anyway the mini duna has a 2nd floor which is attached by a ladder sadly not a tube !

It is made by Ferplast who take time on their cages to make it escape proof and they have done no different with this cage

It comes with a little house which is nice I suppose and a Sippy water bottle that not all hamsters can figure out to use !

It also has a little red food bowl !

I have no problems with the Duna except for the wheel as it seems a bit weird as it doesn't spin all the time ! Also when they are on the 2nd floor they can jump on the wheel and fall back . Although its not high, over time, it could get serious so make sure you have comfy bedding to break it's fall

Altogether I rate this cage 4/5 or 9/10

It houses a dwarf hamster perfectly but please, please, please dont house a syrian in it as its cruel !A syrian has to have lentgh of 58 plus and the duna has about 41

That is my quick review - more would be better but im just getting used to this forum, !

nice review! it would be lovely to see some pics if you have any?
All wheels that come with cages don't tend to be reliable, so your better off buying something like the 4.5" silent spinner for a robo :)

I bought one of these yesterday to be honest sherbert loves it. I took the wheel out for her silent spinner anyway and used a differant sip bottle just because every single cage I've bought the original leaks.

Shertbert loves the shelf that comes with it I think she likes being nosie and seeing whats going on. I quite like the ladder because the ridges are quite prominant so makes it easier to climb.

I also have this cage for my russian dwarfs, the cage is fine, and I love that they can't escape. However, my problem with this cage is toys. Its a struggle to fit in 2 wheels so they don't squabble, and there's no enough height on or under the shelf to put anything other than food bowl or house. Also if they are hiding under the shelf its very hard to get them out!

well at least you can take the top of it off and they won't escape so you can take the shelf off. I think the only way to fit two in is to put the house on the shelf as regards to food bowels its easier to get two smaller ones to be honest if you.

or you can just scatter the food and don't use a bowl, thsi works better for dwarf pairs to prevent fights anyway :)

I have a mini duna which did house my white russian dwarf(not ww) but he died aged 3 and a half begining of this year.
I now house my male in it, although have ahd to move him into my dwarf ovo as it was more conveniant for the females as they had a litter each. All 11 hamsters absolutely love the duna cage, although I argue with my boyfriend to take the wheel out but he wont.

I agree there is not much room for anything in the cage to play with, such as fitting things under the shelf. I have one of them log hide things where its about 8" with holes all around it, a 3-4" log, a toilet roll tube and an egg box which was destroyed in one night. I also have some little wooden toys in there for them.

I have this cage also. But now i have 1 robo in each as they were fighting so theres a bit more space in each 1. When the 2 were together in 1 cage i did find with 2 wheels in there wasnt much room left for toys as well. I dont think they need many toys though as they love the wheels which i think they spend most the night on!

Given half the chance one of my male robos, will sleep, eat and toilet in his wheel. I remove it very few nights as I have heard some hamsters are too interested in there wheels and it makes alot of problems or something.

I haven't heard that, but I suppose it could pose a problem if he's always on it!

Cant remember where I read it, but have read it a few times.

Its something like OCD where all they do is run in the wheel and have to repeat it all the time or something. Im not sure but I take it out just to be safe.
