mum keeps escaping

my female hamster - the one that is now a mum of four healthy babies has been getting out, and keeps getting out of her cage. I don't have a clue how but she has gotten out four times when she was pregnant and five now since she had her babies and there's a lid on her cage... :?:

do you have any clothes pegs, or twist some fuse wire around all doorways - ensure ends are pointing outside the cage. Give mum plenty of bedding and high protein foods as it is unusual for them to try to get away so desperately from their little ones.
