So tonight me and the bf finally tackled adding Gizmo's cages together.

For some bizarre reason the extension piece was about 2 mm short of one of the clips but we managed to cable tie it and the other side cliped into place- HURRAH!!!

I used crittertrail tubes which fit into the furplast connecter but there was a little slippage in them so used super glue :)

The wire cage is a rydon playground and the pink is a fantazia.

I havn't put all his toys in yet- i dropped the pink cage and sawdust went everywhere and ive been off par this week am way too tired to fuss round with it atm.

The pink is not my choice and i didnt really want the cage but was the best i could get at the time. So here it is- when i get more pennies i intend to make a bin extension for bear.

So here it is- my first diy cage :)

I know, it wasnt the cage i wanted but i paniced because he was in the wire one (which i got off freecycle) and all my others are in 2/3 tiers. Was all ebay had at the time so got it. But giz is quite small and it seems just big enough for him....i tell you what though, just putting the thing together is stressful enough..dreading the cleaning! x

Dont get me started when we first got it! It took - about half an hour, and alot of stress to get it together, and cleaning is a ******* nightmare! ](*,)

yup :( if i can get another cage i will but atm money has hilted me :( i should have waited a bit and not panic bought but i thought he'd be cramped in the wire cage..he loves climbing so is actually ok!

I thought that the levels would ll be made so you just put on the ledge and a new top but no..everything comes apart!!! grrrrrrr indeed x

Loving the extension! I bought that Fantazia cage when I first got Jesse. She was very small so it was ok for the first couple of weeks and then I sold it on eBay as I found it very hard to reach her for taming. I love what you've done ;)

That's fantastic! (I commented on your enquiry thread about this, but Hope informed me that you're not able to check here regularly)

I'm looking to do something similar, and what you've done looks very good. I don't think I'm brave enough to cut into my barred cage though... although I suppose I was wanting to put tubes in it when it was a standalone cage for my dwarfs, so it might not be such a bad thing. I think I'll buy the ferplast attachment, and see what I can do with it (i.e. if it can fit in the door in the roof, that'd be helpful). But I might not have any choice.

Although the Fantazia cage looks big, Sen has grown quite big, and I think she needs more space to run - and somewhere better for me to put her wheel (because the ones that come with the cage are too small, and the SilentSpinner I've got for her JUST fits in the bottom of the Fantazia, however I think it annoys her that I have to put a pencil in the back to keep it from hitting the curved bottom.). She chews at the bars a lot, and is constantly trying to escape, so adding another cage would help.

Did you try many different tube types with the Fantazia? I'm just not sure what fits. Someone on PetsForum said that Habbitrail, Rotastak and Ferplast (and Savic) tubes fit the Fantazia (although may need sellotape if they're a bit loose). And that Crittertrail connecting rings help...

Man so much to look into!

Might just be a case of experimenting. But like yourself at the time, money is tight just now, so I can't afford to splash! :(

Thank you for the great ideas though!!

Gillian (and Sen) (and sorry this is so long!)
