The new little boy is home, and has a new name - Toby.

When I picked him up yesterday he wasn't very happy about being handled at all - was very vocal and very stressed as soon as me & they lady that runs the rescue approached him. Got him home and let him settle in - have handled him for 2 brief periods, not got bitten once :), he is just very VERY fast so I have to be quick too!!! I don't think it'll take long till he'll be as tame as they come - just a little bit of patience. He's been much more relaxed here already compared to how he was in the rescue. He's roughly 6-7 weeks old - the rescue have had him for just over a week, he was in his first home for just 3 days before that and came from a pet shop.

I can't get over how small he is!!!! He's teensy!!! (for scale - I think this is a 5 inch wheel) Will have to feed him up ;)

Anyway here he is - and he's a poser already

Looks quite young Emma I wonder if he went to the pet store a bit early? You will know for sure if he shortly grows to normal size.

I wondered that too, he is just so small. Will keep a close eye on how he grows! He is certainly not happy at all about being handled at the moment - I got quite a telling off earlier when I happened to see he was awake so attempted a short handling session. He is a very vocal little chap - still no bites though.

He is really lovely Emma, i am currently taming a baby hamster due to go to his home on 3rd Jan, when i first got him he was quite vocal but after just a few days of perseverence he's really came around

He's lovely! Looks just like my hamster Pepper, but Pepper has grey skirts :D They're not all that long though.

He is lovely Emma. Pet shop hams often squawk a lot at first. He still has a baby face so is probably younger than they said he was. He looks lively enough anyway!
