My ferocious wee beastie made his way to the rainbow bridge on 27th January :( I knew on Saturday that he didn't have long left as he seemed very unaware of my presence. Normally when he's sitting in his bowl and if I go to add some food he whips around to see what's going on but he didn't on Saturday. Despite knowing that time was running out it was still a shock to find him in his forever sleep on Sunday. He looked very peaceful, just like he was sleeping and I'm glad he went peacefully. It's probably the only time he's done anything peacefully in his life ;)

I had thought that loosing Artie wouldn't be so bad because every day I had with him after his second birthday in October was a bonus, but it has hit me very hard all the same. Somehow it never seems long enough even though I am very grateful for the time we had with him.

Artie you were always such a character, scared of nothing and nobody. I remember watching you swagger around your cage when we first got you and thinking how different you were to the others. You looked like a little muscle man, always so determined and feisty, nothing ever stood in your way or was going to get the better of you, be it the monkey nut or the whimzee crocodile or someones finger. You were very much in charge and I loved you, and even if hamdad was still scared of you he loved you very much too. I remember when your cage was near Boris's and you two would run on your wheels then stop and look in each others directions and then start running again. You had quite a few neighours in your time, Boris then Max then Jaska and finally Feliks. When you moved you beside Max you caused so much vibration when you were running on your wheel, that we had to get NASA approved pads on the bottom of your cage to stop the vibrations from disturbing Max! You're the last to go of our original five guys and we'll always remember, love and cherish you Artie. I know if you were here you'd be sitting looking at me with you're eyes narrowed saying 'ok mum, you're getting boring now, I know I'm awesome, tell me something I don't know'..so I'll leave it at that because he's right, as usual, I think I've spoken for long enough.

Rest easy at the bridge beloved Artie, sleep well and have fun with your brothers and friends. I expect you're probably swaggering around like you own the place already xxx

Such a lovely memorial for Artie BP, I could listen to you talk about him all day & it wouldn't be too much but I can just imagine him sitting there looking at you with attitude!
He was such special boy & a real character, he had a wonderful life with you & has left so many memories but I know how hard it is right now & my heart goes out to you, he did live to a great age but it's never long enough or the right time to let them go & even more sad to see the last of your first five go. I am glad he was able to go peacefully in his comfy nest though.
Lots of love & hugs to you & Hamdad at this sad time.
He had a very special place in my heart too & I will miss him very much.

Run free & play well at the bridge Artie, have fun with Max, Boris, Pasha & Jaska, Zen will be so happy to see you again too.

Goodbye, precious little Artie! You were such an amazing ham, and brought so much joy to your family. Run free at the bridge, little guy! You will not be forgotten!
BP, my heart goes with you, you care so much for all your hams, and Artie surely tried very hard to stay with you as long as possible. You are an amazing hammom. It's always so hard to let them go. Stay strong.

Farewell little Artie, what a special little ham you are. Much loved at home and you had many fans here too. An exceptional montage from your hammum to show you off and to evoke memories of a life lived to the full.
Play well with so many friends across the bridge and know you will be much missed.
Hugs to you BP, what a little character Artie was.

BP, as I said on Insta, I am devastated to hear of the demise of Artie such a precious little fluffball, Snappy will have to Ghost's full time mentor now.

Artie, you are in a warm place full of your fave seeds and treats and your little brothers and sisters to be there with you helping you and guiding you, don't forget to look down on your Ham mum and dad from time to time.

Now go and find Master Harvey and Boris and everyone else and crank up the Electric Hammy Orchestra we need a tune down here that everyone can hear.

RIP Artie

A very sad loss, Artie was a wonderful little man so full of character and it was always fun hearing about his antics. He’ll certainly be having fun up at the bridge now. It’s always hard even when when they have lived a long happy life like Artie has so hugs to you during this difficult time. I’m very glad he went peacefully and was able to enjoy himself to the end, sleep tight little man.

I'm so terribly sorry that your beloved, larger-than-life Artie had passed to the bridge. My eyes were welling up with huge tears as I read your very touching, heartfelt memorial to your unforgettable, darling snowball. I had a chuckle at picturing him as Boss of the Rainbow Bridge. I certainly agree that he probably is, lol. I have always had a special fondness for all of your darling hams, and Artie certainly knew how to make us crack up laughing with all of his silly antics and huge personality. I know that he will be greatly missed on HC as he had so many loyal fans, me included. I'm glad that he was able to be with you and hammed for so long, but I totally understand that it is never, ever long enough. Thankfully, he passed peacefully in his warm and cozy home where he always felt your love and devotion. He lived his life to the fullest and made the absolute most of every second he had with you both, and he couldn't have asked for a better pair of parents to care for him. My heart goes out to you and hamdad, you are both in my thoughts, and I'm sending tons of huge hugs.

Artie, you were an awesome ham and will be loved and cherished always. Have fun at the bridge with all of your ham-brothers and multitude of friends. I can't even imagine what fun you will get yourself into at the bridge. ;)

I am so very sad to hear this sad news. Artie was so privileged to find an amazing loving home with you - it was always so nice hearing update of all the thing he got up to plus see all the cute photos of his ferocious face as he ate, although my favourite photo by far is the one of him lounging on his deck chair! As well as these photos you have these wonderful memories to cherish of the time you shared together. Pleased that Artie left peacefully and that your original five are together again getting up to mischief at the bridge.
I am going to miss seeing and hearing more about your special boy.
Play well at the bridge, Artie!

BP, I'm so sorry to hear about Artie, I've only just seen this thread as I haven't been on the forum in a while. My heart sank and I burst into tears. Artie will always be The Frog Ham to me. He was part of the Ham-Orchestra where he was known for his Frog Vocals. He always had a special place in my heart and each time he melted it. I will always remember him for his photo shoots and those expressions that always put a huge smile on my face. He was so special, beautiful and unique and will be missed terribly and forever remembered. Big Hugs to you and I'm thinking of you xxxx
