Hi, I mades these two things a few months ago. Our cute still nameless yellow guy has it in his cage but he almost never uses them:)
Our former hamster did always sit inside his clay home, well different hamster different taste:D
In Holland most people use DAS clay for their hamster. I painted it with paint based on water, af ter that I vernished it with a childfriendly vernish.
Although our cutie is a big chewer, he has never chewed on it.
