Hello!
I will likely be getting the Ikea Detolf for my syrian hamster, but first I wanted to know what others thought about the detolf.

Thank you in advance! 🐹🐹😃

I’ve been really happy with the Detolf so far. Its a great cage because you can put lots of substrate in it and it is HUGE! It’s very well ventilated and you can put lots of toys and stimulation in it. For a Syrian hamster you should build a lid. Also, it’s very cheap for its size compared to commercial cages. I really love it and would recommend it to everyone. :)

I have a detolf and I love it! As previous comments great for substrate and tunnels and lots of toys my rescue Syrian boris thinks he in a palace! He loves to run around it going under and over things! I found my detolf online for £20!

Thank you for the advice! Do you have a lid for Boris?

Yes I made it out of some wood from a local diy shop and a some mesh I measured the inside of the frame and mine now fits snuggly in he doesn’t even try and reach it though as he too busy running round and having fun
