Hi all, I haven't posted in forever so a little update is probably due.
I noticed a lump on Goose, my robo who is currently two and a bit years old. She's recently become quite elderly, so after consulting a vet we decided surgery wouldn't be right to put her through, as she doesn't seem to be in pain, or to be significantly inconvenienced by the tumour. It was also unlikely to extend her lifespan at all, so it wasn't worth it. The lump appeared over a couple of days, I felt dreadful because I hadn't been health-checking her that week due to having a cold, and not wanting to pass it on to her.
And then Zero. My darling Zero had a lump above her eye, which grew withing a week of noticing Goose's. I think there must have been a genetic predisposition. It was a horrible looking thing, and she was pretty distressed about it. She was always on the shy side but would tolerate handling, but with this tumour she turned really aggressive very quickly, so she must have been in pain. I'm hoping I made the right decision in having her put down. it was an inoperable location, and I couldnt stand the thought of her being in pain.
I don't know how to write an obituary, but Goose and Zero have helped me through more than they could probably understand, and I'm eternally grateful to them.
Zero's resting place is in my family's garden, under an old apple tree. I like to think she would have liked it there.
