Hi all, I haven't posted in forever so a little update is probably due.
I noticed a lump on Goose, my robo who is currently two and a bit years old. She's recently become quite elderly, so after consulting a vet we decided surgery wouldn't be right to put her through, as she doesn't seem to be in pain, or to be significantly inconvenienced by the tumour. It was also unlikely to extend her lifespan at all, so it wasn't worth it. The lump appeared over a couple of days, I felt dreadful because I hadn't been health-checking her that week due to having a cold, and not wanting to pass it on to her.
And then Zero. My darling Zero had a lump above her eye, which grew withing a week of noticing Goose's. I think there must have been a genetic predisposition. It was a horrible looking thing, and she was pretty distressed about it. She was always on the shy side but would tolerate handling, but with this tumour she turned really aggressive very quickly, so she must have been in pain. I'm hoping I made the right decision in having her put down. it was an inoperable location, and I couldnt stand the thought of her being in pain.
I don't know how to write an obituary, but Goose and Zero have helped me through more than they could probably understand, and I'm eternally grateful to them.
Zero's resting place is in my family's garden, under an old apple tree. I like to think she would have liked it there.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. Your decision was made from love and was the right one.
Run free at the bridge Zero.
If you would like to make a memorial you just need to to go to the memorials board and post as normal when you feel ready x I can also move this post if you would prefer.

I would appreciate that, thank you! I hadn't realised it wasn't in the right board.

I am so very sorry about your darling Zero's passing. That is such heartbreaking news, but you definitely made the right decision to help her to the bridge so she will no longer be in so much pain. Decisions made from love are always the right ones because you have the best interest of your loved one in mind. Her final resting place sounds very lovely, and I'm sure she would approve. She will live on in your heart and memories. Hugs to you.

Rest in peace, Zero. May you be fully restored to full health and have grand adventures at the bridge. You are gone but never forgotten.

Don't feel bad for not being able to give Goose a health check while you were sick; you were only thinking of her well-being and it sounds like the vet believes there is nothing that can be done to remove it anyway. You may want to ask the vet if there is any meds that you can give her just in case she does seem to be feeling discomfort or pain in the future. I will be hoping with all of my heart that she will continue to not be in any pain and somehow her lump will miraculously disappear. Best of luck to the both of you.
