My beautiful little hybrid Millie passed away yesterday. She wasn't really fond of being handled, but she sure did have a personality and was fun to watch. I will miss all her funny little quirks.
She didn't like to burrow and would throw fits if her substrate was to deep. Just sit on her platform and yell until I removed some and flatten out the rest. Millie's cage sat by my desk and she would often chatter at me late in the evenings. She even would climb into my hand every one in a while for quick pet, but always on her terms.
Though technically mine, my 5 year old claimed Millie as hers and even named her. She was so matter-of-fact about Millie passing, and surprisingly calm. When saying good-bye she told Millie that she could run and play now since she wasn't tired anymore. That moment both made me cry, and so proud of my daughter at the same time.
Run free my sweet girl, we love and miss you Miss Millie.
