Yesterday I had a shock as I was doing my feeding round for the animals. Pope had passed away... He seemed to be in good and health and wasn't acting out of the ordinary the night before so I am guessing he passed of natural causes. He was almost 22 months old. His brother, Weaver, is still going strong. Last January we lost Lexi and now this January we lost Pope. January seems to be a horrible month for us here.

Pope has a lovely plant in the garden now and he has a guardian angle that glows and looks over him in the night. She sits next to his plant. I don't think I have come to terms with it just yet. It makes me worried because now I am worried his brother may go soon...

Pope slept more than a teenager but ran on his wheel like an athlete. Feeding time made him so excited and he used to love digging and making tunnels. I will miss him very much.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Pope sounds like a lovely little ham who is filled with personality. It's unfortunate how short lived hamsters are in comparison to us, but it sounds like he lived a good long life with a caring and loving owner. My sympathy goes to you and I hope things start changing for the better

So sorry for your loss xbuttons, it does sound as though Pope had a happy & healthy life & it was just his time, it does take time to come to terms with & it's only natural to feel a bit anxious about his brother but it will get easier for & you've given him a lovely memorial, I hope that's a comfort to you.

Run free & play well at the bridge Pope.

Thank you for the kind words. Pope was quite the character. I don't think I have fully come to terms with it but I know I will and that it will get better. Rupert and Weaver will help me through.
